Culturally-sustaining and revitalizing computer science education for Indigenous students (2025)

Teachers, researchers, and the Wyoming Department of Education collaborated to implement culturally-sustaining CS lessons using design-based practices. Teachers integrated students' knowledge to support engagement and reflected Indigenous priorities like language revitalization and Tribal sovereignty.

AFE-Indigitize Indigenous Computer Science Interest and Access Study, Phase 1.0 Findings (2024)

This is a summary of Phase 1.0 of Amazon Future Engineer's initiative to increase access to computer science education for Indigenous youth. Indigenous Computer Science Study Literature Scan (2023)

This literature scan, conducted by the American Institutes for Research, is part of Phase 1.0 of the Amazon Future Engineer-One Generation Indigenous Computer Science Interest and Access study. It offers a comprehensive review of existing research on student interest and access to CS for Native American/Alaska Native (NA/AN) youth. The scan identifies gaps in the current literature and highlights opportunities for further research to improve access and engagement in CS for Indigenous students.
