SkoCode
Become a SkoCode member and inspire youth through Computer Science
SkoCode (Let’s Go Code) is an AmeriCorps program designed to expand access to meaningful, culturally grounded computer science (CS) and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy education for Indigenous students. Most SkoCode members serve directly in schools, working alongside teachers to bring engaging CS and AI literacy experiences to students. SkoCode members serve for about 10 months/one school year.
SkoCode members — many of whom are trusted community members — serve as mentors and role models, creating learning experiences that connect technology with students' cultural values and real-world problem-solving. They facilitate hands-on CS and AI literacy lessons for K-12 students, adapting their approach to align with students' interests and community needs. In addition to leading classroom learning, SkoCode members collaborate with teachers to integrate CS into existing subjects, helping students develop the skills they need to uplift their communities and shape their futures.
