SkoCode (Let's Go Code) is an AmeriCorps program housed under Indigitize with the goal of bringing meaningful computer science learning experiences to Indigenous students.

SkoCode members apply and are selected to complete a 8-10 month term of service, and they receive in-depth training on how to facilitate computer science learning experiences for K-12 students. We’ll provide you with tools, training, and support so you can create high quality, culturally relevant computer science learning experiences for young people through lessons, presentations and more! SkoCode members will gain valuable experience in computer science, teaching techniques, and Indigenous education.

Service benefits include:

  • Bi-weekly living stipend, a Segal Education Award ($5,176.50) to pay for educational expenses and access to mentoring

  • Professional development that provides pathways greater opportunities, and access to AI and Cloud Certification career pathways and opportunities through Amazon.

  • SkoCode members commit to one 9 months of service (30 hours per week) with one or more of our host sites.

Eligibility Requirements:  Must be 17 or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and have access to reliable transportation. Positions will be based across New Mexico, Arizona, South Dakota, and Colorado. Please inquire to learn more about specific site locations in those states listed.

Our SkoCode members can facilitate computer science lessons during the regular school day, during after-school or summer computer science programs, and work in collaboration with teachers to help them integrate Computer Science into existing lessons.

SkoCode members can serve any students at your school and can help integrate computer science into most courses and subject areas.
